Hago-ita Ichi

Hagoita Market

“Hago-ita” means battledore, it’s basically the racket of “Hanetsuki”, a sport close to the badminton, a traditional game started 500 years ago which celebrate the coming of Spring. These racket became more and more gorgeously decorated with painting, and are today used as decorative ornament to keep girls healthy and safe.
During the Hago-ita Market, many temporary vendors and shops display and sell their Hago-ita to visitors.
